With the perfect sunshine this weekend we decided to go down to Colombo Winery on Todds Road for wine tasting on the deck. Sitting in the sunshine with vineyard views enhanced by the beautiful Tararua ranges as a backdrop, this is an experience you have to try.
A Martinborough "must do" Colombo is one of the regions newest wineries & definitely worth visiting.
The only thing that beats this purpose built tasting room is the wine itself, if you've sampled Colombo wine you'll understand what we mean... every drop very drinkable.

Sitting on the deck in the afternoon sunshine, wine conniosseur David Beveridge conducted our wine tasting. David knows his wines & it's good to get the low down on the wine notes & nuances while you sip & sample. These wines are easy to drink & the cheese board accompaniment inspired us to order a second glass of the superb Colombo Pinot Noir, just needed to stretch out this experience a little longer. The wine, weather, setting & company couldn't have been more perfect.
Soaking up the sunshine while sipping world class Pinot with incredible scenic views is no hard chore. We left with a bottle of Pinot to take home for good measure, already planning our next trip to Colombo.
